Meet Our Staff
Our people are among the most talented in the industry. We have certified dance educators, well trained assistants, and professional dance instructors for all ages and levels. It would be our pleasure to put our extensive experience to work for you.
 
Artistic Director-Amanda Garvey grew up in Chelmsford, Massachusetts and is currently raising her two children in her home town. She holds a Certification in Dance Education from Northern Essex as well as her Associates Degree in Dance. Garvey is a coach for Chelmsford’s Pop Warner Cheerleading and is looking forward to taking her cheerleaders all the way to the top in their future competitions.  She enjoys teaching all styles of dance as well as continuing her dance education by attending conventions and classes at Dance Teacher Summit and other local workshops and conventions.  Over the past twenty years, she has studied numerous forms of the art including gymnastics, cheerleading, ballet, hip-hop, jazz, lyrical, musical theater, and many more. Hip Hop Instructor - Shawn Krayenborg is originally from California and has trained from a very young age in Hip-Hop and Breaking. He has been in several movies including “Ten Things I Hate About You” with Heath Ledger. Krayenborg auditioned in 2007 for “So You Think You Can Dance” and made it through to the final Vegas cuts. Krayenborg expanded his dance range when he enrolled in Northern Essex’s dance education program in 2009 where he studied many forms of dance including World Dance, Ballet, and Jazz. Krayenborg was hired in 2010 as a Premier Dancer for Bates Entertainment where he performs live for hundreds of people all over New England every year. He enjoys furthering his dance education by attending several dance conventions each year such as “The Pulse”, “Monsters of Hip Hop”, “West Coast Dance Explosion”, and “Jump.” He is a high energy teacher and performer and we are excited to have him as a part of Studio A’s growing team!
 
Dance Instructor/Fitness -Ciara Bomengen currently resides in her hometown of Chelmsford, MA where she grew up dancing since the age of four. Bomengen quickly fell in love with the art and enrolled in ballet, jazz and acrobatics. Her passion came at a very young age and when she turned seven she became a member of the nationally recognized competitive dance company at The Dancing Center Unlimited. With her extensive training in ballet, modern, jazz and tap Bemengen had the opportunity to perform in New England, Disney, New York and her mother's homeland, Ireland.  She started teaching a variety of programs through her high school and college years and continues to instruct. She can be seen choreographing and instructing as the Director of Dance in the YMCA and several areas in the Boston Metrowest. click here for more 
 
Dance Instructor-Annie Fish has over twelve years of dance experience with eleven being competitive. She has won several high score awards for solos, duos, and group work from various competitions including Turn It Up Dance Challenge and Step Up 2 Dance Tour.  Fish received several judges’ awards including an Emotion Award and Power House Award for solos.  She has performed live on two Carnival Cruise line ships throughout her dance career.
 
Fish has been teaching for the last seven years at Rap ‘N’ Tap School of Dance in Amesbury, MA.  She has taught all ages and many styles of dance, including but not limited to jazz, tap, ballet, lyrical, tumbling and hip hop.
 
While studying dance at Northern Essex, Fish choreographed various contemporary, modern, and jazz pieces for the student showcases. Fish has two American College Dance Festivals at University of Maine and Boston University under her belt.  After graduating from NECCO, she then attended UMass Amherst where she was part of the UMass ballroom Dance Team.  Recently, she has been taking classes with a Northern Ballet Teacher, and just finished working with a choreographer who is affiliated with Green Street Studio in Boston. Fish is most passionate about her contemporary choreography and loves to train children of all ages in this genre of dance.

Dance Instructor-Miss Brianna Fumia currently resides in her hometown of Chelmsford, Ma where she has grown up and began her love for dancing at the age of three. Her favorite styles of dancing have always been tap and jazz. During high school, she choreographed many pieces in both tap and jazz for the Chelmsford High School Dance Team. Fumia attended Framingham State for four years, three of which she devoted to being a member of the dance team. In her last year, she worked hard to help run the dance program as the Vice President of the team, choreographing for students of all levels and helping piece together winter and spring dance shows. Since graduating from college, Bree has been working in Special Education and loves making a difference in her students' lives.
 
Dance Instructor -Laura-Jean Gendreau received her degree in Dance Education and Certication to instruct dance from Northern Essex Community College in Haverhill, MA. A seasoned performer in both classical and contemporary styles, Ms. Gendreau has danced with the Northern Ballet Theatre's Youth Ensemble and other freelance dance groups in a variety of venues around New England including SummerFun, Downtown Stroll, Choreographer's Showcase at Pinkerton Academy, and Dance Rochester. Ms. Gendreau has refined her tap technique under Master tap teacher Susie Michaud, and studied the technique of Lester Horton under Michelle Deane. Ms. Gendreau is also a member of Touche Taps and performs under the direction of Shaina Schwartz.


Dance Instructor- Rebecca Jelley has been dancing for over 13 years. In 2000 she started dancing at a local studio in Tewksbury, MA. She studied dance in many different styles and was also part of their competitive team. Jelley graduated Northern Essex Community College in 2010 with her certificate in dance education and her Associates Degree in dance. During her time at NECCO, Jelley earned the opportunity to participate at the American College Dance Festival three years in a row.
Jelley started her teacher training as an assistant in 2005 and has been teaching and choreographing her own classes for over three years. She currently teaches various styles of dance for different ages such as, ballet, tap, hip hop and jazz.
 
Preschool Dance/Combo Cuties Instructor - Jayla Garvey began her journey as a dancer five years ago under the training of Miss Amanda. She was selected to be one of Studio A's DreamGirl dancers in 2012. 

Before she was chosen as one of Studio A's Elite DreamGirls she was selected to dance in Disney World with a local Elite Competitive Dance Team. She also danced aboard an international cruise ship in the Bahamas during this time. Garvey continues to expand her range and resume by attending several dance workshops and master classes every year. She danced at the Orange Bowl Half-Time Show as well as on board the Intrepid Aircraft Carrier in New York City. She continues to expand her range by attending several workshops throughout the year. Some of these workshops were taught by celebrity choreographers Victor and Angel from Dance Moms: Miami and lead choreographer Britney from Abbey Lee Dance Company in Pennsylvania. Mandy Moore, celebrity choreographer for "So You Think You Can Dance". Jayla is the Preschool Dance Instructor at Studio A Dance Company as well as one of our substitute instructors!
