WEEKLY HIGHLIGHTS
Week 1: Audition Day – Learn how to approach auditions with confidence and make bold choices. Practice slating, relaxation techniques, and explore monologue options.
Week 2: Character Work – Dive deep into character creation through intention, action verbs, and the GOTE method. Explore who your character is and what drives them.
Week 3: Scene Partner Work – Learn to connect with scene partners, listen actively, and respond authentically in shared scenes.
Week 4: Dance Day – Discover how acting and dance combine! Learn to make bold choices in movement, even if you’re not a dancer.
Week 5: Music Day – Explore the art of storytelling through song, warm up your voice, and practice making impactful choices in musical performances.
Week 6: Body and Voice – Strengthen your physical and vocal presence with exercises in projection, articulation, and body awareness.
Week 7: Improv Day – Build quick-thinking skills and creative collaboration through improv games that enhance your acting toolkit.
Week 8: Monologue Share – Showcase your growth in a final monologue presentation, with an option to perform for family and friends.
Monologue Work:
Throughout the workshop, students will select a monologue to refine and practice each week. By applying the skills learned in class and committing to memorization at home, students will develop a polished performance to share on the final day.
